VIV SELECT CHINA 2026 has finished and for our team the three days in Shanghai were busy from the moment the exhibition opened.

We met poultry farm owners, project buyers, distributors and industry professionals from markets. Some came to learn about pieces of equipment while others were already planning a new poultry farm and wanted to discuss the whole project. These conversations gave us a better understanding of what poultry producers are looking for today.

Customers Are Looking Beyond a Single Product

One thing we noticed at the exhibition was that customers were not simply looking for a chicken cage or one piece of equipment. More of them were asking how different parts of a poultry farm could work together.

Questions often moved from feeding and drinking to manure removal, egg collection, ventilation, climate control and even the poultry house itself. For a farm these systems are closely connected. A problem with one part can affect the efficiency of the operation.

This is also why we continue to focus on one-stop poultry farming solutions than treating each product as a separate business.

Automation Is Becoming Practical

Automation was another topic that attracted a lot of attention.

Farm owners are facing growing pressure to control labor costs while keeping production stable. At the exhibition customers showed interest in automatic feeding, drinking, manure handling, egg collection and environmental control systems.

We also had discussions about smart farming technologies, including equipment that can help monitor flock conditions and identify potential problems earlier. For us the value of these technologies is not simply that they are "smart." What matters is whether they can solve a problem on a working farm.

More Than Poultry Equipment

At VIV SELECT CHINA 2026 HENGON presented a range of poultry farming equipment with our prefabricated poultry house structures.

This allowed customers to discuss the farm as a project from the building structure and layout to the equipment installed inside. Depending on the farm size, bird capacity, local climate and operating conditions different projects require solutions.

For customers in particular having one team coordinate the poultry house and farming equipment can make communication much easier during the design and purchasing stages.

What We Took Away from VIV SELECT CHINA 2026

For us an exhibition is never about putting products on display.

The valuable part is sitting down with customers and hearing what they are actually dealing with on their farms. Their questions often tell us more than a product brochure can. They also give us ideas, about where automation, equipment design and complete farm solutions can be improved.

VIV SELECT CHINA 2026 gave us the opportunity to meet both faces and existing connections exchange ideas and introduce more customers to what HENGON can provide.

Of course the conversations do not end when the exhibition closes.

If you are planning a poultry farm or upgrading an existing one HENGON can provide a customized solution covering poultry house structures, chicken cages, feeding and drinking systems, manure removal, egg collection, ventilation and climate control according to your project requirements.
